Different material compositions and material variants of the fibrous materials cover a very wide range of possible applications. Depending on the quality, the fibres we stock have various approvals and certifications. The specific application, taking into account the required approval, determines the choice of the specific material.

Fiber materials at Rehm Dichtungen

We, Rehm Dichtungen Ehlers GmbH, have access to a diverse product portfolio in the field of fibrous materials, which is basically divided into four supergroups. Klingersil®, a brand name of the manufacturer Klinger, comprises a wide variety of low-sealing standard and high-performance grades, which are characterized above all by excellent resistance (e.g. temperature, mechanical or chemical resistance) in a wide range of applications. Gaskets made of the various AFM grades are used primarily in areas where high thermal and mechanical resistance is required. We also stock a large number of different Frenzelit® grades from the company Frenzelit GmbH. In addition to the four supergroups described above, we also offer various Nomex® grades. The intended use determines the respective quality. Basically, seals made of Frenzelit qualities are used primarily in industrial applications and in the food industry.

Fiber gaskets are gaskets, such as flat or flange gaskets, which are made from a wide variety of fibrous materials and are used primarily in environments with increased requirements for mechanical, thermal or chemical resistance. Fibrous materials basically consist of fibers (such as aramid fibers) bonded with an elastomer (such as NBR)
2. which gasket materials belong to fibrous gaskets?
The area of fiber gaskets can be divided into four upper groups. Klingersil gaskets, are materials from the manufacturer Klinger and include a wide variety of qualities, which have the most diverse resistances. The other upper groups are AFM gaskets, Frenzelit gaskets and Centellen gaskets. Due to the various possible material compositions, fibrous materials can be used in a wide range of applications.
3. how are fibers processed?
The production of customized seals or blanks from fibrous materials is carried out with the aid of various manufacturing processes. At Rehm Dichtungen Ehlers GmbH, we use waterjet cutting and punching, depending on the required number of pieces and the tolerance specifications.
4. can fiber gaskets also be equipped with self-adhesive?
Seals and blanks made of fibrous materials can be equipped with self-adhesive on one side. The self-adhesive film, which serves as an assembly aid, is first glued to the unprocessed fiberboard sheets. Subsequently, your self-adhesive gaskets made of fibrous materials are produced.
