Centellen® seals
Centellen® gaskets are fiber gaskets that we manufacture using our production processes from unprocessed sheet material from our supplier Hecker Werke. The Centellen gaskets available from us are characterized by excellent gas tightness.
Centellen sealing material is available to us in various qualities. As standard, we process Centellen HD 3822, a further development of Centellen WS 3820, and Centellen R WS 3825.

Centellen® HD 3822
Centellen® HD 3822
Centellen® HD 3822 is a further development of the material Centellen WS 3820, which is known as a special quality for high pressures with good pressure resistance at good gas density. The reason for the further development of Centellen WS 3820 lies in the area of mechanical requirements. Nevertheless, seals made of Centellen HD 3822 and seals made of Centellen WS 3820 have similar resistance data.
Centellen HD 3822 are fiber gaskets composed of high quality aramid and inorganic fibers bonded with NBR rubber.

Consequently, gaskets or flat gaskets made of Centellen HD 3822 have the following properties:
- High pressure resistance
- Very low gas leakage
- Very good oil resistance
- Good tensile strength
Seals made of Centellen HD 3822 meet the requirements of gas supply and are used in particular where higher pressures as well as medium temperature ranges exist. The classic areas of application include the chemical industry, plant and mechanical engineering, and the food industry.
Clearances:
- BAM (for gaseous oxygen)
- DVGW (suitable as sealing material for gas supply, type DIN 3535-6)
- HTB DIN 30653 (suitable as sealing material for screwed joints and flanges in connection with gas meters and pressure regulators as well as flanged joints in gas installations)
- KTW (approved for use with drinking water according to the recommendations of the BGA)
- WRC (approved as a sealing material for use with drinking water up to 85 degrees Celsius)
- TA-Luft (leakage criterion high quality in the sense of TA-Luft approval according to VDI guideline 2440)
- W270 (certified as a sealing material for contact with drinking water)
Centellen® R WS 3825
Centellen R WS 3825
The material Centellen R WS 3825 is the special quality of Hecker Werke, which has the best gas tightness with good pressure resistance in the temperature range of up to 200 degrees Celsius. The gasket material is composed of aramid fibers, inorganic fibers, recycled material of high quality aramid grades, which are bonded with the help of a rubber mixture. Applications for gaskets made of Centellen R WS 3825 include the wastewater and heating sectors and mechanical engineering.

The resistances of Centellen® seals
The Centellen gaskets available from Rehm Dichtungen Ehlers GmbH are resistant to hydrocarbons such as oils or solvents, alcohols, glycols, aqueous solutions, water and steam up to 250 degrees Celsius (gaskets made of Centellen HD 3822) and 150 degrees Celsius (gaskets made of Centellen R WS 3825). While Centellen HD 3822 is conditionally resistant to ketones and esters, chlorinated solvents, strong alkalis and inorganic acids, the gasket material Centellen R WS 3825 is not resistant in this respect.
