Elastomer seals

Below you will find an overview of our elastomer seals.

Elastomers belong to the group of plastics. They are generally characterized by the fact that they are both dimensionally stable and yet have good elasticity.

Elastomers are used in particular for static seals, such as rubber rings, rubber cuttings or the production of rubber sleeves. Due to their properties, they are also ideal for flatand flange gaskets - depending on the specific characteristics required for the intended application.

Elastomer seals from Rehm Dichtungen

At Rehm Dichtungen Ehlers GmbH, you can choose from various elastomer materials in stock. Do you need seals that are particularly resistant to ozone and UV radiation? Then EPDM,FKM or CR are ideally suited. NBR is highly resistant to lubricating oils and grease. NR, natural rubber, in turn has good mechanical and dynamic properties and also offers an interesting price-performance ratio.

Please contact us so that we can work with you to find the right gasket material for your intended application. We will be happy to cut your individual seals for you in almost any shape and contour. You also have the option of purchasing unprocessed roll or sheet material from us.

FAQ on elastomer seals

1. what are elastomer seals?
Elastomer gaskets are manufactured flat and flange gaskets made of a wide variety of elastomers. They themselves can be assigned to the group of plastics and impress with the combination of dimensional stability and simultaneous elastic deformability.
2. which sealing materials belong to elastomer seals?
The best-known materials belonging to the group of elastomers are EPDM seals, NBR seals, NR seals, CR seals, FKM seals and seals made of silicone. All sealing materials differ in terms of their mechanical, dynamic and chemical properties.
3. how are the elastomers processed?
For the production of customized seals, different manufacturing processes are available depending on the respective elastomer, the tolerance specifications and the required quantities. Elastomer seals are manufactured by means of waterjet cutting, plotting and punching.
4. can elastomer seals also be equipped with self-adhesive?
To simplify assembly, most elastomer seals can be produced self-adhesive on one side. In principle, bonding the elastomer to the self-adhesive film does not impair the properties of the base material.
5. where are the data sheets and approvals of the sealing materials?
The data sheets and approvals for all elastomer materials in stock can be found in our download area under the Service tab. At the same time, you will find an overview of further certifications, such as REACH and RoHS certifications.
